Social Emotional Support
Too often, children in our community are confronted with emotionally stressful situations that fill their hearts and minds, making learning difficult. It could be the death of a relative, divorce, violence at home or in the neighborhood or a parent with a drug problem.
Our Share and Care program uses art therapy to help vulnerable children discuss and deal with these and other frightening events. We have created curriculums on a variety of topics, from anger management, bullying, substance abuse and self esteem, to social skills, grief and loss, and more.
The groups we lead nurture trust and community, creating a safe space for children to share their worries and fears, and learn coping skills that help them succeed in school and in personal relationships.
