Spelling Bee
Beethoven Annual Spelling Bee
Beethoven is proud to participate in the National Scripps Spelling Bee. Our parent organization coordinates our spelling bee program. First our teachers host a spelling bee in their classroom. The top two classroom spelling bee winners are recognized at a Monday Morning Assembly and receive official Beethoven Spelling Bee shirts, a medal and a gift certificate. Then the classroom spelling bee winners from 3rd through 5th grade compete in a school wide spelling bee contest following the National Scripps Spelling Bee guidelines. The school spelling bee winner gets their name added to a trophy kept in our award display cabinet near the main office and goes on to the regional spelling bee. If they win the regional spelling bee they go on to the state spelling bee and possibly the National Scripps Spelling Bee.
Congratulations to the classroom spelling bee winners! The winners in 3rd through 5th grade will go on to compete in the schoolwide spelling bee in February.
Our 2018-19 schoolwide Spelling Bee champion was Lucas Vargas, 4th grade. Congratulations to Lucas who will go on to the regional Spelling Bee competition in March.
