Principal's Message

Cara FieldsDear Parents & Community,

At Beethoven, we believe in "Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be a Buddy, not a Bully." Along with our mission to inspire students to meet their highest potential we, the parents and staff at Beethoven, work extremely hard to ensure our students have the best educational experience from transitional kindergarten (TK) to 5th grade. In order to provide the best educational experience we work together collaboratively and focus on the needs of students. In turn, our students are provided with a wealth of academic and enrichment experiences that expand their cognitive and social awareness.

We are excited to share with you the unique features and programs our school has to offer you and your children. Beethoven Elementary School is a California Distinguished School and was called, “the best of the best” by Jack O’Connell, the State Superintendent. Beethoven is a much-desired small school, with an enrollment of around 350 students in grades TK-5. Our school population represents a rich diversity of ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds. It is an honor to work with our brilliant and highly experienced staff, enthusiastic and supportive parents, and wonderful children.

As a graduate of both the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and Pepperdine University, I lead with a collaborative spirit and an eye on always improving our academic performance while transforming the campus into a beautiful learning environment. At Beethoven Elementary, students receive an excellent academic education, extensive enrichment programs in technology (coding), art, theater, and music, and both physical and personal development.

My vision for Beethoven as a school leader is to make every family feel welcome, to ensure our students excel academically and socially in a warm environment, and to work collaboratively with stakeholders in supporting Beethoven in reaching new heights.

I am also proud to share that Beethoven is now a School for Advanced Studies (SAS) due to its commitment to gifted and high-ability students.
