To tie into this unit the 5th graders went on a trip to Riley's Farm on Monday, February 22nd in which they participated in the Revolutionary War Adventure and other time period activities to further enhance their experience of the American Revolution.

On the day of the Living Museum, the 5th graders, dressed as their historical figure, paraded through the school's hallways with classes sitting outside their doors to listen to the 5th graders play their flutes to American Revolution songs. The parade proceeded to the auditorium where classes and families were present for two shows. The shows consisted of minute dances, songs and in the end an opportunity for students to bring history to life. Each student had a poster with their name, their birth and death date as well as a red button. Once you pushed the red button, the student gave a 1-2 minute summarizing their life.

Families and students were able to learn about history up close and most important the 5th grade students truly cemented their learning of the American Revolution.
