Beethoven is fortunate to have a free STAR after-school program. STAR is provided free due to a grant and partnership with LAUSD Beyond the Bell Branch. STAR is a non-profit organization and a leader in innovative education programming and community based cultural enrichment program for the last 25 years.

 

Our STAR program serves students in TK (who are 5) to 5th grade. The program starts right after the bell rings and ends at 6pm.

 

STAR Education's mission is to offer extended educational, recreational and enrichment programs to students; support and enhance school curriculum; improve student achievement; and expand the cultural base of young people through innovative quality programs offered by highly qualified instructors.

 

Beethoven's STAR program is available for students in TK (who are 5) to 5th grade. Students are either picked up by STAR staff from their class or meet up at the STAR main classroom area. Students in the program participate in LAUSD's Supper Program offering them an afternoon snack, spend time doing daily homework and then rotate to different enrichment stations utilizing 5 classrooms around the school's campus. The enrichment stations include art, science, theater, and physical education to name a few. The STAR program is lead by our Coordinator Mr. Jesus Perez.
