Multicultural Dance

The Multicultural Dance is an annual tradition at Beethoven held in the last few weeks of school. Coordinated recently by our PS Arts music teacher, Ms. Daval, the dance is a celebration of cultures from around the world. Each grade level learns not only a unique cultural dance but a lesson on culture. Each dance has significant meaning to the culture it represents and the time period in which it was created. At the end of the dance, the culminating 5th graders get a chance to lead the school in the "Electric Slide," an American dance. The entire school along with students, staff and parents are welcomed to join in. Although not every culture may be represented at Beethoven, we continue to educate our students about cultures from around the world, how it makes us unique and how we respect one another's differences.
